How many times have you started something and became overwhelmed with the enormity of it all, or you’ve lost confidence in your abilities. The commitment was bigger than you realised, the excitement is wearing off, it’s become dull, it’s consuming all your time, you just don’t know what to do next because it’s just too hard. There are so many excuses we have all come up with for not following through to the finish, or even starting that desire we’ve longed to do for so long because we just might fail.
There is one thing that God says to EVERY BELIEVER (that’s you and me) regardless of our thoughts or situations. . .“TRUST ME”.
There are so many examples of excuses that we come up with, but the fact remains that God has given us a promise for every excuse to help us through.
God always gives us a choice, however he desires us to choose wisely.
John 10:10 says “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. But I have come that you may and have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance ( to the full, till it overflows).”
Yes please, I’ll have that! But its still a choice. Life is not easy, but if we think right, it can be exciting, even when it would be easier to give up.
Need some help. . .here’s a list.
We say: I’m not able God says: I am able (2 Corinthians 9:8)
We say: I can’t do it God says: You can do all things (Philippians 4:13)
We say: I just can’t figure this out God says: I will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6)
We say: I can’t go on God says: My grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9 & Psalm 91:15)
We say: I’m too tired God says: I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28-30)
We say: It’s impossible God says: All things are possible (Luke 18:27)
We say: I’m so worried God says: Cast all your cares on me (1 Peter 5:7)
We say: I’m all alone God says: I will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)
We say: It’s just not worth it God says It will be worth it (Romans 8:28)
We say: I’m not smart enough God says: I give you wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:30)
We say: Nobody really loves me God says: I love you (John 3:16 & John 3:34)
We say: I can’t forgive myself God says: I forgive you (1 John 1:9 & Romans 8:1)
We say: I’m afraid God says: I have not given you a spirit of fear… (2 Timothy 1:7)
You’ve got what it takes to not only begin, but also for all of the journey until you’ve completed it.
The devil doesn’t care if you go to church or read your Bible, just as long as you don’t apply it to your life. Because He knows just how powerful and successful you will become, and that will attract others, and they too will grow and attract others.
I read this the other day: “We’re either on the edge of an incredible adventure or we’ll have a hilarious story to tell. Either way it always works out.”
It’s a matter of attitude and choice. . .choose well.
