Our Story
Our church, much like any family, started with a few and then grew. As the church “family” has grown, some family members have gone on to grow their own family. The Christian Gospel Centre has been grounded in Victor Harbor for over 30 years, and just like a family tree; has many branches that have spread far and wide and has borne immeasurable fruit. Our greatest joy has been seeing countless lives changed as people have experienced for themselves the life-changing love of God.
Our Vision
Our vision is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by sharing the message of the love and grace of God. And we don’t just talk about our vision – we live it! We are active in helping to meet the needs of those in our church, the local community and beyond.
We Believe
Jesus is central to everything we do. Our past, present, and future is centered on Jesus Christ. “For in Him, we live and move and have our being” Acts 17:28
. . . in a relational model to ministry. God created us for relationship with Himself and with others. We are here for each other. We are the body of Christ serving our community and each other. Genesis 1:26-27 Genesis 2:18 1 John 4:7-11
. . . that “grace and truth came by Jesus Christ” John 1:17 and that “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
. . . that God held nothing back when He sent His Son into this world for us. We endeavour to take this attitude into all that we do. Our voice is used to tell people about the positive gospel message of Jesus. We build others up knowing that Jesus is our hope and the only real answer to life’s questions. John 3:17 Romans 8:1-4
. . . that whilst we stand firm in what we believe, we also embrace change; constantly growing, always seeking. Romans 12:1-2
. . . the love for others comes from God’s love for us. It is His unconditional love we have received that enables us to go to our community and share the love we have experienced. 1Corinthians 13:1-13 Acts 1:8 John 13:34-35
