What is the Gospel?
The gospel is the most important message of God to man, that you will ever hear. But it’s not a message that can be communicated in a few words here. Take a moment to read our brief expression of the gospel, but don’t stop there. Find out for yourself. Come and talk with us, ask questions and get some answers.
HOPE. LOVE. LIFE.
The gospel is the “good news”, the power of God unto salvation (forgiveness of sins, healing, prosperity, safety, preservation); it is the message of Hope, Love and Life.
The gospel is the fact that the Cross of Christ was a success. It is not about what man must or must not do, but about what Jesus has done! We don’t have to become holy enough to earn salvation. It’s a gift. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” Ephesians 2: 8
God’s gift to us is by His grace, and His love to us is unconditional. God doesn’t love us because of some virtue we possess. God loves us because “God is love” (1 John 4:8).
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
The gospel is God’s free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Everlasting life is not something that begins when we get to heaven, it is a present-tense possession. There are a number of scriptures that speak of everlasting life as something we possess in this life (John 4:14; 5:24; 6:40).
In verse John 17:3, Jesus defines eternal life for us “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
We are supposed to experience eternal life; that is to have a close, personal relationship with God our Father and Jesus Christ His Son, right now!
As you search the scriptures, and come to know Him for yourself, you will find His promises to you are; always promising you Hope, always giving you Love, and always bringing you Life.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
