God Made You Beautiful – Shine!
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness
For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others
To lose weight, let go of stress, hatred, anger, discontentment, and the need to control others
To improve your ears, listen to the Word of God
For poise, walk with knowledge and self-esteem
To strengthen your arms, hug at least 3 people a day; touch someone you love
To strengthen your heart, forgive yourself and others
For the ultimate in business, evening or casual attire, put on the Robe of Christ; it fits like a glove but allows room for growth
Best of all, it never goes out of style and is appropriate for any occasion
Doing these things on a daily basis will certainly make you a more beautiful person, because His light, His love, His joy, and His peace are shining and overflowing through you everywhere you are.
We judge beauty by someone’s outward appearance but God never uses our outward physical appearance to determine beauty. 1 Samuel 16:7… “The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
God says to us in Psalm 139:14 that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 17 God says we are “the apple of His eye.” In Deuteronomy 7:6, God tells us that we are “His treasured possession.” John 3:16 says “We are loved.” In Philippians 4:8, God encourages us to think about whatever is “true, noble, right, pure, and lovely.”
Imagine this: You just painted the most beautiful picture you have every painted. It is exactly what you wanted. You absolutely love it! The person you give it to constantly points out the flaws…how does that make you feel? God is the painter, and you are the person it has been given to. It breaks Gods heart when you constantly criticize yourself, because He made you perfect. You are absolutely beautiful in His eyes.
As we ponder God’s Word, speak it each day, our thoughts, our words and perceptions grow to be exactly like His Word says. The last Scripture I want to share is Psalm 119:114, “You are my refuge and my shield. I have put my hope in your Word.”
When our confidence, hope and trust is in God, our hearts are filled with a new song. Know that instead of being a misfit, a mistake, unloved, rejected – we are the Lord’s treasured possession, fearfully and wonderfully made… THAT’S YOU AND ME!
Taking our eyes off our circumstances and our image, looking to find ways to help others smile, only causes our own inner beauty to shine through.
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL – don’t hide His Light, SHINE!
